Wilfred Mott

There is one thing I can say about Wilfred Mott, and that is I love his character in Doctor Who. In this article from Radio TImes, Bernard Cribbins desires to travel with Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor. This is not the first of past characters and actors who approve of the change in the Doctor.

The big thing about Cribbins is that he had no idea of the change of the Doctor. He said that he thought they were going to have a lady.”(1) Apparently his is not in close contact with the show anymore, so he was in the dark about the casting of Whittaker as the Doctor. Even though he did not have any Idea, when he hears that Whittaker is the Doctor, he gives her high praise.

I believe that having Mott traveling with the Doctor would be a great idea. He in some way was a companion of the Tenth Doctor. I say this because he seems to always be there while Donna is the Doctor’s companion. He was very close to the Doctor and I am pretty sure the Doctor has not forgot about him.

If they do bring him back, I believe that some of the fans who left may return. I am pretty sure I am not the only whovian  who like s or even loves the idea. Bringing back old companions or in this case an old companion’s grandfather is not a bad idea. He did much as Donna’s grandfather and helped the Tenth Doctor much. He was to a bright light at times and a great help in David Tennant’s final episode.

Seeing Wilfred Mott again really would be great for me and all those out there who love his character. I hope he does get to come back and travel with Whittaker’s Doctor. Now, that is much more than what Donna can do. He can come back But Donna cannot, which is ok with me. I love both of them and it would be great to see them both again, but with what happened with the Doctor/Donna thing she can never return.

I certainly hope Chris Chibnall considers this, but if it doesn’t happen I will be okay with it. But it would be nice to see Wilfred again!
