Reflect

After finding this article on CBR, maybe we as fans need to reflect on what happened in Season 11. Jodie’s Whittaker’s first season as the Doctor for some was memorable, while others did not see it that way. The biggest take from Season 11 is there weren’t any old enemies. Yeah, fans did not see any Cybermen, Daleks, Ice Warriors, Zygons, or the Silurians. Then fans see the return of the Daleks in the New Years Day story Resolution.

Not having old enemies was a change, and for the most part, made things better. Even in the classic series, these old foes were not always there. Yeah, the show survives with seeing Cybermen as well as Daleks. One time the only Cyberman the Third Doctor sees is just lifeless body in Carnival of Monsters. So, there isn’t anything wrong with not having old enemies.

Season 11 began strangely. Fans see the 12th Doctor regenerate in Twice Upon a Time, them the TARDIS proceeds to throw the 13th out into space. And fans see her fall to the earth and meet her new companions. She then faces off with a new villain named Tzim-Sha, a dangerous alien warrior.

After defeating Tzim-Sha, the Doctor reunites with the TARDIS in Ghost monument. Then the TARDIS crew goes off into time and space to meet Rosa Parks, fight giant spiders in London, travel to India in 1947, meet King James I, and takes down an intergalactic online company.

We end the season with the return of Tzim-Sha. He comes back with a little help from two powerful beings known as Uxs. He attempts to destroy Earth, but the Doctor and her crew defeat him once again.

Fans see the return of the Daleks in the Resolution on News Years Day. The Doctor and her crew find a recon Dalek collecting information for a full invasion of earth. Once again, the Doctor defeats the Dalek saving the day. The last image we have is the team leaving for more adventures in time and space.
