Wow, according to this article, the BBC presents Ncuti Gatwa as the next Doctor. Does this come as a surprise? This can be a surprise for some fans. But being a fan, it does not come as that big of a surprise. One question comes to mind about his casting. How will fans react? Those who know him as an actor know he will do a great job. What about those who don’t know him. To be honest, winning Bafta awards adds to the choice.

He admits to the seriousness of the role. Thinking about it, he must take the correct stance on the job. His ability is well known, and he will do a great job. Not knowing much about him, all this fan can do is look at his track record. He is an award-winning performer. Does this make him the best choice? Of course, it doesn’t.  Russell Davies didn’t cast him because he was an award-winning actor. Anyone who thinks that is not thinking clearly. Being an award-winning is never a reason to choose him or her as the Doctor.

Davies told reporters that he thought one actor had won the job, but Ncuti Gatwa simply stole the show. He was the last actor to audition, but he stole their hearts. The unexpected happens from time to time, and this is of those times. Fans trust Davies in how Doctor Who is run. They know he keeps Doctor Who first in his choices for the show. So, is this a good idea? Anything Davies plans for Doctor Who will work. Should fans have concerns? Some may at first, but those concerns will disappear once episodes are televised. So, fans are waiting for 2023. It is a great time for Doctor Who. They are moving in the right direction, and it is an exciting time for the show.
