Minority

Well, Colin Baker, the sixth doctor, tells digital spy what he thinks about the next doctor. In this article, the author believes the BBC and Davies will cast someone who is a minority? Casting someone of a minority for some fans will be a problem. Let me clarify. There are fans from the early years who resist change. These are the same ones who complained so harshly about the casting of Jodie. Who knows what fans will think if Davies plays the bame game.

Does skin color matter? For some people, but it doesn’t for the new generation of fans. The new generation of fans is more accepting of Jodie at first. Then some of the older generation follow them. Will this have the effect? Does the new generation accept the change? How does the older generation react?  These are questions to ask. Does the color of someone’s skin matter?

Well, some fans want Doctors like classic Who had. Progressive fans will accept changes like this. Will Doctor Who continue without change? Doctor Who would be dead if not for change. And fans who can’t see that are fooling themselves if they think otherwise. Does it matter whether the Doctor is male or female?  Does it matter if the Doctor is of a minority? Why do people get all upset about these two ideas? There are other things to get upset over. Complain about things that matter. Just because a person is of color or the other gender does not disqualify them.

Colin Baker is right. Davies will probably cast someone of color. Will it work? There is not anything to say it will or it won’t. Jodie’s time could be better with another showrunner. Chris Chibnall isn’t the best choice, and the BBC knows it. When they hired him, he seemed to be the right choice. Davies is the right choice, and he will make the right choices for Doctor Who. If he sees to cast someone of color as the Doctor is right, he will do that.
