Atlantis

Atlantis

Atlantis is a place which everyone hears about as they are growing up. I know I watch TV and read books and it is something which is talked about. There are television shows and movies which tell us about this lost city.

Now, the US film making industry is not the only place we see the Lost City of Atlantis. The UK has there own television network and own shows. Therefore it just as easy for them as it is for those here in America to make shows about this fictional place. You realize after just a short period of time that this is not a real place, but that does not stop them from making movies and programs about it.

Well, I believe everyone one knows that the city is at the bottom of the ocean. I think the city is the product of a great flood and the people built a doom around them to survive the flood. I am not saying this is the truth, but it is something to consider.

Atlantis has a very special visitor fifty years ago. This very important visitor is the Second Doctor, Patrick Troughton and his companions Ben, Polly, and new comer Jamie. Once again the TARDIS guidance system malfunctions and lands in an extinct volcano in the middle of the ocean. This seems to be great place for a story for Doctor Who. Doctor Who does go to historical places, but the writers take us to fictional places as well. Because of the name Atlantis, this is a great place for a story.

I have be able to read a little about this and actually I have not watched any of the shows or movies. Atlantis is place where the writer can write into the story whatever he or she wishes. Now, that is my standpoint. The writers may have something to follow, but if I am a writer I want it to be my own.

This story seems to be a great science fiction story. Atlantis is described as having unmerciful high priest, a pool of hungry sharks, and the Fish people promise a none too friendly reception for the visitors.

I will watch this story once I can buy the DVD. I will give a better review once I am able to do that. But if this like all other Doctor Who stories, I will like it. Whovians do watch Doctor Who even when the episode is not good. This episode I sure is a great example of the iconic science fiction program. I know that Atlantis is fictional but that will not stop me from watching it.
