Confirmed

According to this ScreenRant article, Doctor Who has confirmed the fugitive Doctor is the first.  Does this news come as a big surprise? Well, maybe to new Whovians. For many years, Whovians remember the Doctor’s battle with Morbius. The time when he and Morbius had a battle of the brains. They can remember all the different faces that flash through the sphere. As a fan, you wonder who the faces are. Were they incarnations of Morbius? Do they belong to the Doctor? The year the story airs. Most fans figure they belong to Morbius because they only know of four Doctors.

Surprise

Is the news that big of a surprise? Since Chibnall began the Timeless Child arc, fans wonder how many incarnations does the Doctor have? Does this news change Doctor Who lore? What do fans think about the news? Are there any concerns? As a fan, it does move me that much. Hardcore fans may see it differently. There is evidence even in the classic series of the Doctor having more incarnations. While watching the classic series, fans will be more observant. They will look for hints in the Doctor’s many faces. Are there other references to the Doctor being the Timeless Child?

Fan Reaction

Some fans may want to know about the Doctor’s other past lives, but this does change things. So, how many incarnations has the Doctor had? How old is the Doctor? From this news, fans know the Doctor is the basis for the Timelord’s ability to regenerate. But they don’t have any idea of how old the Doctor is. The Doctor may be older than the TimeLord’s race. Well, the Doctor most likely is much older than the Timelord race, just saying. Therefore, you must ask some questions.

How will Davies tie the news into his writing for Doctor Who?  Does he do anything differently now? Wow, can he do a better job knowing this is all true? Who knows what fans will see, but things can get very interesting from here. So, where does Doctor Who go from here?

Conclusion

At the moment, there aren’t any fans who know what to expect. Some article writer says that Davies can’t save Doctor Who. But he nor anyone else can make such a statement. Was the writer a hater or just giving his opinion? Who knows, but fans do not want Doctor Who to go away. They want new stories and episodes. How Davies uses the information is beyond me and any other fan. So, all we can do is wait and see.
