13th Doctor’s Sonic

As a whovian, I see the sonic screwdriver as a necessary part of the Doctor. So, my question goes to the 13th Doctor’s sonic screwdriver. The original sonic comes during the Second Doctor’s reign and each Doctor after him except one has a sonic. The only which did not is the Fifth Doctor. I am assuming the FIfth did not use it because his role seems the closest to being human.

As we go through the history of Doctor Who, each Doctor’s sonic gets more advanced. The technology of the time allows for this and it would seem strange if the sonic did not advance in looks and ability. I do not remember to much about the Third Doctor’s sonic since I haven’t really watched to many of his serials. The Fourth is more evident since he is the Doctor I get my feet wet with the show. Being nine years of age I think this sonic is out of the world. The Doctor uses the sonic to tackle many locks and computerized items which regular means will not help much.

We do not see a new sonic until the Sixth Doctor and I can say I don’t remember much of his use because I did not watch many of his episodes or stories. But what I did see he uses a better version than the Fourth Doctor. Moving from the sixth to the seventh and eighth I cannot say much about these either. I did not watch many of the Seventh Doctor’s stories, and I have only seen the movie like once.

The Ninth Doctor is another one which I need to watch. I seem to remember he did have a sonic. But I do not  remember much about it either. The Tenth Doctor’s is much newer and I remember him using it many times. The design of his sonic is strictly his and they change it again when Matt Smith takes over. When we come the Twelfth Doctor, there is a sonic screwdriver then the sonic sunglasses. Which I think is cool but I don’t remember much about them.

The 13th Doctor’s sonic will be something to reflect her personality I believe. It needs to reflect a female personality and be out of this world. I don’t know how Chris Chibnall will make her sonic better, but I am sure he can and will. I believe that there will be a very new and different sonic coming for the 13th Doctor. How much different is to is only a guess. I will say my imagination can’t even conceive what they will do. I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see what they do.
