New Monster

If there is anything about Doctor Who that I like, it is the fact they can add a new monster when the are ready. Doctor Who is all about out of this world monsters and it does not hurt to have a new on monster added. I think other Doctor Who fans feel the same as well.

The word I found comes from Peter Capaldi himself. He gives a teaser about something new coming to Doctor Who. His words are, “Be very careful when you hear a creak…”(1) I find this very interesting. It something which at the same time raises my expectations and excitement for season 10. This will I believe for the most part raise the excitement of all Doctor Who fans. I honestly believe that all Doctor Who want something new and exciting at the same time.

This is a quote from Capaldi, “I think that you should be very careful when you hear a creak, when you step on a floorboard,” Capaldi told the crowd.
“Where you hear a creak…I think you should think twice about what the creak is.”
He whispered: “It may not just be a creak.”

Now if that does make you want to see the new season soon, I do not know what will. A new monster is an awesome thing for the show. What it does is bring new fans and makes old fans happy. As a Doctor Who, I am always looking for new material from the writers and producers. The same old dull stuff makes your ratings go down and really does not bring in new viewers and fans. This is a breathe of fresh air. As a result, I can see the viewership starting to rise. Especially with horror fans.

When you think back over Moffat’s tenure as showrunner, he has brought us some very scary foes. I means weeping angels, really who wants to be killed by statues. I love those shows with the weeping angels. They are awesome.

According to Capaldi, this is like a reboot.(2) The young lady Pearl Mackie playing Bill does not have any knowledge of Doctor Who, so Moffat is taking the show back to it’s roots.(3)

What seems to be intention and I see why is to bring Mackie into the show by having Bill see what it is like to time travel with a monster and the Doctor. This spoiler is cool because Capaldi gives maybe a little too much information. Quoting Capaldi,  “It is essentially this mysterious stranger from outer space with his time and space machine, whisking Bill off into corners and blowing up monsters.” (4)

I find all of this very exciting and I am so looking forward to seeing whatever this is. The most exciting part is seeing a new monster. I am going to hate to see Moffat leave, but what can I do.
