Farewell

My reflection on Season 10 the farewell of Steven Moffat and Peter Capaldi is a tad bit late, but I think I need to express my feelings. I will be honest with everyone here. As far Season 8 and Season 9, I liked Peter Capaldi’s Doctor, but the shows so much. From my standpoint I see these seasons being about Clara and her life. It’s like the Doctor is there but only as a side note.

When it comes to Season 10 though, there is a change. One thing is that Jenna Coleman is now long on the program. Then Steven Moffat returns so old school enemies and then he also brings in some new monsters as well. I really like Season 10 from the standpoint that we see the Ice Warriors and the Mondasian Cybermen. This was a real good idea. To me it is like returning to the First and Second Doctors.

I like that Moffat hides the Doctor in a university as a professor. Then adding that he is protecting a secret in a vault, this was intriguing. For much of the season the viewers are wondering who or what is in the vault. This gave a suspenseful feel to the season. I can say that I was really wondering who or what the Doctor was keeping an eye on until the reveal. Of course it was not much of a surprise to see that it was Missy.

I liked every episode, but can say that I liked some more than others. The return of the Ice Warriors and Mondasian Cybermen were my favorite. I am a big fan of the Cyberman and frankly the only ones I have seen are the ones since the Fourth Doctor. So it was cool to see the original Cybermen.

I can’t recall ever seeing the Ice Warriors but I am not sure on that one. Their return is a great thing for me. I love everything about Doctor Who and I can say that Season 10 to me is Capaldi’s best. The cliffhanger at the end of episode 12 was amazing and I can hardly wait til Christmas. The teaser gives just enough information to raise my interest without giving it all away.
