Rumored
Not all Whovians are not upset over rumored leaving of Chris Chibnall after season 12. Neither does Jodie Whittaker following him. After reading this article, the reasons given make sense, but will their exit be good or bad? The feelings of Whovians will vary depending on their view of Chibnall and Whittaker.
Fans desire as many episodes as they can get in a season, but Chibnall sees making ten episodes untenable. In other words, Chibnall does not believe he can keep doing ten episodes each season. Fans heard Peter Capaldi mention how taxing making a season for Doctor Who was as well. Sometimes fans need to step back and take a real look at what goes into such a great show. Maybe there is some truth in what was rumored. And those who don’t like the present setup will get what they want.
Is the BBC asking for ten episodes in a season too much? Doctor Who fans will most likely say NO! But it seems Chibnall does not believe he can give the BBC ten episodes a season. Okay, what has changed here? Elder Whovians are asking. They remember a time when the BBC produced 28 episodes a season. Admittedly they were on 30 minutes apiece, but that would be 14 hour long episodes.
The question bears answering though. Doctor Who from the beginning was a time-consuming production. Many of the stories had multiple episodes and would take two, three, four or more weeks to play out for viewers. That is the way it was, and you did not hear anyone complaining about it. Or even saying it can’t be maintained. Yeah, having to wait the next week to see what was going happened sucked, but it made for good television.
So, why does Chibnall say he can’t do this or is it just rumors. Maybe he is leaving then again he may be staying. Whether you like Chibnall and Whittaker or don’t like him, these rumors can’t be good for Doctor Who. Of course, you have some who will love to see them go, but then there are those who wish they will stay. Well, it doesn’t matter which side you fall, Doctor Who to have such a change like this after only two seasons can’t be the best thing.
So, what does the BBC do if this is true? There will be some fires to extinguish and some serious issues to consider. But will they change anything? Probably not, in the end, the BBC will do what the BBC wants and hope the choice they make is the right one.

I hope Chibnall leaves and doesn’t let the door hit him in the arse! But not Jodie! She is great and with the right story line and writers she will be one of the best. She also has a great group of companions!
