Return of Missy

Return of Missy

The Master/Missy has been a part of Doctor Who since the early 1970s. Since the character first appears, it seems there is at least one story where every Doctor must face him/her. This will carry on since Michelle Gomez confirms the Return of Missy in Season 10.

To a long time fan, this is great news. I believe that the Master/Missy makes the program better. The long time enemies and one time friends are always a great idea for a story, Other fans I am sure like to see the return of Missy to the screen. The Master/Missy is always cooking up some kind of scheme, where he/her can rule the earth. This always makes for a great story line and bring back whovians to watch. We are always curious as to what the Master/Missy has in mind to take over the universe.

Michelle Gomez has given confirmation that Missy will return to Doctor Who in season 10 in 2017.(1) I wonder how the new companion will like this. Does this take away some of the thunder that Bill, Pearl Mackie, will make being the new companion. I don’t really know these two actresses so I can’t say how neither of them will answer that question. The great thing is the fact we see Missy in Doctor Who again.

At this moment, my favorite actor/actress to play the role is Roger Delgado. But that may because I have seen most every serial with him as the Master. Therefore, I will need more episodes and serials with Gomez in them.

The return of Missy is great and gives the fans something to look forward to. At the same time, it gets our minds rolling and thinking about what she is going to do. Whatever it is the return of Missy is going to be awesome. The scheme I am sure is going to be out of this world and I can’t wait to see what it is.

The Master becomes an integral part of Doctor Who when Barry Letts introduces him in 1971 in Terror of the Autons. He shows his face a number of times during Jon Pertwee’s reign as the Doctor, to only be taken out because of a tragedy. I feel there was missing thinks when that happens. The showrunner during Tom Baker’s reign brings back the Master and if I right see him as a skeleton twice. Then from left over energy from the Key to Time, the Master takes over the body of another being. Anthony Ainley then plays the Master until the shows cancellation in 1989.

I really look forward to Gomez’s Missy because I think she does a great job, and cannot at this time say she is the best but she does a good job, and the fact that Moffat is bringing her back is awesome. I can’t wait to see what she has planned for the earth and the Doctor.
