Reaction
The reaction of the thirteenth Doctor is something I can’t wait to see. Now, I have not seen it and so I am speculating on what might happen. According to this article by Radio Times. That it will be like Matt Smith’s reaction.(1)
Thinking back to Matt Smith’s regeneration, I do remember him checking out his long hair. In the process of things he screams, “I am a girlllll!!!”. That is classic reaction right there. Of course, the Doctor is always wanting to be ginger, but never being ginger. I have never really seen what is so important about being ginger, but I am sure there is a reason.
Now since the Doctor has always been a male, one can only guess at how the reaction will go. The reaction from the 13th Doctor’s can become just as classic as the 11th Doctor’s. Except this time the fact the change is going to be real. Now, I know that many Whovians do not like this idea of changing the Doctor into a female, but let’s give it a chance. We really do not know how things are going to go.
I thought the way that Matt Smith was a good lead into the regime as Steven Moffat take over Doctor Who as the showrunner. This will give us some idea of how Jodie Whittaker may play the Doctor. But then again it may not and will just have to wait until the first full episode of season 11. Which unfortunately has been delayed.
I have always waited with anticipation for the change of each Doctor and then see their reaction. Another one I remember that was rather I guess harsh is Peter Davidson into Colin Baker. When the Doctor changes in that one, Peri sees the change and ask the Doctor a question. The way Baker answers the her to me is classic. The Doctor to Peri, “Change my dear, and not a moment too soon.” Like he is glad and that tells us to some extent what type of personality he will have.
I certainly hope I can use the reaction to give me some idea of the Whittaker’s Doctor’s personality, but if not I will just have to deal with it. I am just hoping that what Moffat says about it is true. he says she is really good and that is what I am going on at this moment.
Her reaction can be funny, serious, and maybe even odd compared to the other Doctors. I can imagine at this moment the reaction will be something rather funny. I mean we have a male changing into a female. This really reminds me of the David Tennant episode where he Cassandra switch bodies. That was so funny and I don’t know that it will be exactly like that, but who knows. I can only speculate. Hey, it will be very different I am sure, because the Doctor never knows what he gets when he changes.
