Radical
A BBC boss, according to this article, promises radical change to the iconic sci-fi television show. Outside of saying changes are coming. The boss is not too specific, but fans are hoping for radically good changes. Admittedly, Chibnall’s monster of the week isn’t great at times, or maybe not at all. The BBC’s belief that Chibnall would be a good choice backfired. He makes changes that didn’t do what the BBC hoped.
The words of the boss give fans food for thought. Fans know the BBC isn’t giving up on Doctor Who. That is floating around. Why is the BBC giving up if they have spent millions of pounds on the show? They have openly said more seasons are coming. Doctor Who makes the BBC lots of money, so why cancel it? Doctor Who truly is one of the greatest shows of all time.
Radical change has many definitions. What changes will the BBC make? The next showrunner needs to be innovative, and they need to bring new thoughts to the show. Fans are looking for the BBC to hire someone familiar with Doctor Who. In Chibnalls case, he wrote a few scripts for Moffat. He ran a murder mystery program, and he only wrote a few scripts for Doctor Who. So, how familiar was he? Fans may see the e[isode he wrote as terrible rather than good.
As a fan, changes are coming, and that is good. All fans are now in a wait-and-see mode. What are these changes? The BBC boss couldn’t tell the magazine what the changes will be. That could be a good thing. It gives fans something to think about as the old regime finishes season 13. There is exciting news about what will happen in season 13, but fans are looking forward to who will run Doctor Who. The biggest thing fans are looking forward to is who will be the 14th Doctor.
