Musical Episode

I found this article very interesting. As fans, we all saw Peter Capaldi play the guitar on Doctor Who, but would you ever believe the idea he had? Well, he thought a musical episode where the Doctor meets a musical legend would be great. Of course, we know the TARDIS can travel anywhere in space and time, so anything is possible, but will a musical episode work.

Personally, I love the Doctor playing the guitar in the TARDIS and thought it brought something different to Doctor Who. But I never knew that Capaldi thought about a musical episode involving a music legend. To be honest, this could be a very interesting idea. Now, how the showrunner will work it out is another deal, but according to Capaldi, he had it all worked out.

Now, the idea is an interesting one indeed. How will the musical legend, Jimi Hendrix, in Capaldi’s episode, react to a time-traveling alien. But then add other aliens who are trying to invade earth in say 1969. Wow, yeah this can get very interesting. Will the Doctor use his guitar to win the day? Or maybe Have Hendrix play something which harms the aliens in some way. See, there is so much to work out.

Of course, Capaldi’s idea to tell Hendrix his guitar isn’t good enough is a stretch. So, how do you do that? Capaldi’s version is straightforward, but I wonder how the real Hendrix would take it. Of course, this is the Doctor, so, he can say what he wants and get away with it. According to Capaldi, he would simply say, “Jimi your sounds good, but … what you really need is a sort of wah-wah sound.” What will Hendrix’s reaction be? We may never know unless Chris Chibnall decides to run with it.

It was Capaldi’s idea for the Doctor to play the guitar on screen. He was able to convince Steven Moffat let him play the guitar, but the one about Hendrix did not do so well.

In conclusion, fans might like this but then again they may not. If Chibnall decides to follow Capaldi’s idea, who will be the music legend the Doctor meets. We will have to wait and see.
