Monks

The truth be known this three episode series of the monks is awesome. This alien race is a new new monster for Doctor Who, but it seems as though he has to deal with them some other time. Well, that is hypothetical. I say that because there never seems to be a surprise for him. He always has a way to deal with every monster he faces.

The monks come on the scene and as a fan I never thought they would be that interesting. I love the last three episodes and look forward to more of season 10. Then I love the way the Doctor fakes out Bill when she shoots him with the blanks.  When I first see the trailer last week, I honestly thought he was going to start the process and then stop it so Capaldi can finish season 10. Then I love the way Moffat uses Missy and Bill in this episode, and I really like the way Bill freaks out whenever the Doctor acts like he is working for the Monks. Only to be a test to see if Bill is under the influence of the Monks transmissions.

This is one time the Doctor can’t deal with the enemy in the normal manner. He is not able to fight through the monk controlling the broadcasts. It takes Bill and her thoughts of her mum. Thanks to the Doctor giving her pictures of her mum, she creates an imaginary mum. It seems as though her mum actually exist and for Bill she does. She speaks with her and everything. The Doctor knew this will help him and Bill somewhere down the road when he give her the pictures. Well, he is right.

I don’t know where the show is going from here, but the first 8 episodes have been excellent and I can’t wait for the last four as we move through season 10.
