Knock

Knock

Have you been scared by a knock? Well, I can say that I a knock will scare me. In this story, Bill and her fellow college students need a new place to live. Of course, the house they choose has an alien there, but it is not who you think. Yeah the Doctor is there but what transpires is truly different.

I really like the way the story progresses, but there is one thing I find a little annoying. That is the fact is the story revolves around Bill more than the Doctor. The Doctor is there, but he is not the center of attention. Bill and her friends get most of the lime light in this one. This hurts the story a little, but I will recommend other Whovians to watch it. The story is interesting and the landlord does act rather strange. It also creepy the way he just shows up out of nowhere.

I think it rather cool in that in the end the lady he thinks is his daughter is actually his mother. That is a good twist in the story. The way he sees it until the last few minutes of the story. He saves the life of his daughter with some insects he finds in the garden. At the time he finds them he does not know they are aliens and it isn’t until the end of the story the writer reveals this. These insect basically make the house come alive and eat young ladies and men to get energy to keep the landlord’s mother alive. I knew something is up when the house eats a friend of Bill.

What I find rather interesting in all of this is that this seems a little bit like the first 2 years of Jon Pertwee’s reign. Now not completely in that he is stranded on earth, but in that he is not suppose to go to other planets. What I like is that he can leave and come back at the same time he leaves. This show along with the first three have made me want to see more and the scare tactics in this story are good.
