Jacobi

There is some good news for fans of the Master. In this article, there is news of Derek Jacobi returning to reprise the role of the War Master. What is going to happen, you may ask. Well, last year he came back to Doctor Who when he reprised his role as the Master in Doctor Who: The War Master – Volume One with Big Finish production. This set of audio books consist of four hour-long episodes. ‘Beneath the Viscoid’ by Nicolas Briggs, ‘The Good Master’ by Janie H Jones, ‘The Sky Man” by James Goss, and ‘The Heavenly Paradigm’ by Guy Adams.

What Big Finish is doing is a continuation of that series. They will record three more series of audiobooks with Jacobi as the Master. For fans, this is great, because outside of the television episode Utopia there are not any other stories with him as the Master.

We did not get much of a feel for Jacobi as the Master since we see him as a man without any memory of who he is. The amount of time we see him as the Master is short. Although that small amount, still reveals how evil he is.

The which we should find amazing about this is the fact Jacobi loves playing the War Master. He believes it is a thrill to play the Master and be remembered by fans. Because fans to remember him, it means his portrayal was memorable. This fan remembers him and believes he was a good Master. It was sad to see him go and not have any more interaction with him.

But thanks to Big Finish, we will at least have audiobooks with Jacobi as the War Master. There will be three box sets in all. The first box set will be available in December 2018 with the title of The War Master: The Master of  Callous. The War Master: Rage of the Time Lords will be the second released set, and the final set will be The War Master: Anti-Genesis set for release in December of 2019.

Once again Big Finish Production keeps Doctor Who alive. They continue to make Doctor Who audiobooks when Doctor Who was off the air. And now they bring back a beloved character to entertain us. It is good that Big Finish made and makes Doctor Who audiobooks. It allows Whovians a chance to hear their favorite character on audio.

I can say living in the US in 1989 and hearing they canceled Doctor Who was devastating. I did not know anything about these books, but now I do and wish to own some if not all they have to offer. Therefore, I am going to need to find an outlet to buy them.Jacobi
