The Ice Warriors

Doctor Who is probably the only sci-fi show where you will see an enemy like the Ice Warriors. This enemy from my reading is from the planet Mars. The Doctor finds them when he lands on Earth during a new Ice Age in the 1967 episode The Ice Warriors. This is one of the episodes in which the BBC destroys parts of the complete story. Two of the episodes are missing, but the good thing is that the story will be animated so that it can carry on.(1)

The first thing I admit is that this is a very interesting enemy. The creative minds around Doctor Who in 1967 are very innovative for their time. This reptilian monster from the planet Mars is an awesome enemy. For me, it seems as if only something that Doctor Who will have. I honestly cannot give much of an opinion on these guys until I get to see this story.

The information I read gives me a little about this interesting enemy. According to what I find, these are creatures who leave Mars. They fly from Mars and land on Earth centuries before the Doctor arrives, therefore the suspense rises. Their spaceship is in a glacier and scientist from the time frame the Doctor lands on Earth finds it. It is one of these scientist that call them Ice Warrior. What the Doctor and these scientist find is when one of these giant creatures are thawed they come back to life.(2)

I will be honest with everyone here, because I find these aliens I too will try to thaw them out. I want to know more about them, as a result I will be likely open myself to dangers. Because I don’t know what it is, I want to dig into what is there. The giant Ice Warriors will be very interesting. Of course, that is the wrong choice, because I don’t know what I am getting myself into. Well, this is the case for the scientist in this story. They find this glacier with a spaceship and are curious. This human reaction at times is not good. There are things we need to learn but then there are things which can harm us.

The Ice Warriors turn out to be a very dangers race of aliens which the Doctor is needed to defeat. If we find something like this, there is trouble to follow because we don’t have a Doctor to defend us. The scientist in the story are very fortunate because the Doctor arrives in the nick of time.
