Guard

Changing of the guard for Doctor Who seems to be a regular thing. As I look back, there now has been thirteen different actors who are known as the Doctor. The show is iconic with 50 plus years of experience. There is change that takes place at least every seven to ten years of the production crew. Writers change as often as well, but no matter how much change we see the show continues.

Changing of the guard is not just with the production crew either. The cast changes almost and maybe more often than the people who oversee the shooting. All we need to do is look at the number of companions and the main role as well. There are thirteen Doctors and more companions. I really do not have a number for the companions. But there are times when we see three companions with the Doctor and then just one.

When looking at the fact that things change with Doctor Who, I believe that is why it is as old as it is. Changing actors and production crew brings a new look for viewers as well new feel of the show. What I mean is the new characters and new personality for the Doctor keeps fans coming back. Now, if the writers do a good job and the showrunner as well. The ratings are great and the show continues to air. The change in companions is always good because it brings a different feel to the show. The new Doctor brings the same new feel in that as a fan you do not know how he is going to act. Changing of the guard with Doctor Who is good because it brings amazing new people to the show and a new way for the show to look.

The one thing I do know as of right now is they finished shooting the Christmas Special and we will see the new Doctor on Christmas day. Whoever it is I believe is going to bring in new fans and bring back old fans. From all I have read this change to Chris Chibnall is going to be awesome. There are changes coming and I hope it is back to the way it was with Tome Baker or David Tenant. Let’s move forward and don’t look back. Because when we do this there can only be good things to come. Therefore changes are good!
