Down Syndrome Day

In this article by Ben Allen, we see the heart of Jodie Whittaker and the TARDIS crew as well as the one of David and Georgia Tennant. What a gesture by all these actors. They all come out to show their support for people with Down Syndrome around the world.

Down Syndrome is a genetic disorder I wouldn’t want any person to have. Life is hard enough just to be born, but to be born with something like that makes life even more difficult. The challenges parents face who have children with Down Syndrome are many. I don’t have any experience with these children outside of seeing them in school. How parents deal with their children is amazing. I don’t know how they do it.

Those with Down Syndrome depend on their parents for almost everything. Then I am sure are things the parents deal with we don’t see. Things are different for parents with children who need their parents so much. These children wind up living with their parents all their life. Therefore, many if not all never get married and move out.

As a parent, you love that child like any other child. You will do anything needed to make the child happy. Parents of children with Down Syndrome have a difficult job as their parents. I wouldn’t wish anyone to have a child with Down Syndrome.

Seeing this gesture and reading about it, makes me proud of the actors and actresses who show their support. Therefore, I see those who support the cause are doing a good thing.

We all should give our support. This genetic defect is something worthy of supporting. It touches the lives of so many people around the world. So, whether you are close to one of those families or not it is a good cause. People need to know about this and know more about it. Personally, I don’t know much about it. So, I need to educate myself more.

In conclusion, everyone probably knows or has at least seen someone with this genetic disorder. The parents of these children give a lot of their time to take care of them. They sacrifice lots to take care of them. As a result, I want to honor them because I know it can’t be easy.
