Most Americans know about Star Trek and Doctor Who. These iconic shows air the first time in the 1960s, They are both successful, but the number of different eras of Star Trek is more. Therefore, Star Trek has a great model for RTD to copy. According to this ScreenRant article, RTD needs to follow the Star Trek model rather than the Marvel Universe model. He bases his opinion on how successful Star Trek is. Star Trek is as successful as Doctor Who. The Series started in the sixties and continues until today.

RTD may look at it and see if there is anything he can copy. From the success of Star Trek, we can see what they are doing is good. Fans continue to watch and engage in the show. Their model seems reasonable and may have aspects RTD can use to help Doctor Who. But does it fit Doctor Who? One similarity is that they are science fiction. Star Trek has had time travel, just not constant time travel. They both take place during different times in history. The success of Star Trek and Doctor is well known. The difference is that one is a time traveler, while the other occurs at different times. The other thing is Doctor Who revolves around one character.

The idea of copying the Star Trek model sounds good, but will it work for Doctor Who. Honestly, the only things the same, to me, are the traveling through space, and the genre. Ok, not much of a Trekkie here. Maybe things need to remain simple for me. My personal preference is to stay the same. Yeah, that is a bit old fashion. Change can be good, but Doctor Who is successful without copying anyone else. Doctor remains because the lead character changes from time to time, That is what makes it different. It is also what makes it fresh and new with each different face. But the way RTD does things is up to him. Fans have very little say in how he produces the show. All fans hope for great shows which entertain them.
