Animated Doctor Who

Animated Doctor Who

A little while back it was announced that “The Power of the Daleks” is going to be restores by animation. I personally am so looking forward to this. As a Doctor Who fan, I want to see all the stories I can. This is one of the stories which some of the episodes are missing. This as I wrote in an earlier post is a great thing for the show. Now, I can say that animated Doctor Who will be in US theaters. Wow, how great is this. I never ever thought the show will be inc cinemas across the US.

Now, whether I will see it in theaters is another story in itself, but this is a great announcement for Doctor Who fans. I really can’t imagine going to a theater and watching anything but this on November 14th.(1) One problem for me with this is where and which cinema. Therefore, I ask the question which theaters and what cities. I then need to determine if I can go. I do not know about you as a reader, but for me I will try to the best of my ability to go.

Now, the theaters are not the only place to catch the animated Doctor Who. BBC Worldwide and Fathom Events are the ones putting on this event. Consequently, there is allot riding on it. I believe in my heart that it will be great and will bring out some of the older Doctor Who fans. The article I get this information from, also tells it will air in the US on November 19th. If I am right it will be on BBC America at 8:25 pm EST.

A great extra is the fact that they are adding bonus content which includes interviews with original cast members.(2) Therefore, I want to see this even more. I am not sure of who is still alive at this point but how wonderful to get the views of original cast members. Where else can you get a better view of the original shooting of the serial than the original cast.

I know that I will most likely not be able to go to the cinema and see this show, but I do have a DVR and will set a recording. Therefore allowing me to watch it as much as I wish. I agree with this statement, ” Soumya Sriraman, EVP, Franchise and Digital Enterprises, BBC Worldwide North America, said:
Ahead of the premiere on BBC AMERICA, it is a rare treat to be able to bring the lost episode, Power of the Daleks, to life using modern animation techniques. Doctor Who cinema events have been incredibly successful, and this is extraordinary opportunity to allow a new generation of fans the opportunity to experience this classic adventure for the first time.”(3)

Well, if any you are in the US near a theater with this animated Doctor Who, the tickets go on sell on November 14th.
