Wholock
Screenrant wrote or published this article on November 14, 2017. The writer in the title says “Doctor Who Stops by the Sherlock Set: Could Wholock Happen.” Well, this is idea which will most likely not happen. The reason I say this is because Steven Moffat is no longer the showrunner of Doctor Who.
I believe most people know that Sherlock is Moffat’s baby and that since he does not run Doctor Who anymore the chances are slim. But let say that he does not step down as showrunner of Doctor Who. Now this leads to everyone thinking that maybe it can.
Personally, this can be a great idea then again the idea can be just as awful. If the writing is good and the egos of the characters can be contained, then it may work. I can say there will some interesting moments if this is to take place. These characters are both geniuses in their on right. It is that they are geniuses in different ways I think.
Now, just because you have to great characters with egos does not men they can’t work together. One must have an open mind I suppose and not just think well it will not work. I personally love both programs. I understand that Doctor Who and Sherlock are different genres. One is sci-fi and the other is mystery or crime solving. This may for some make a barrier which can hinder the writers.
I don’t know if Moffat ever had an idea to make a crossover with these two shows. But I can somewhat see that it may work, but for me it is something I probably will not like. I just can’t picture these two characters on the same screen. The time setting is very different in that when we look at Doctor Who it is first set in the 1960s and then Sherlock is set in the 1800s I believe. I understand that the Doctor travels through time and space and can be in any era, but it is just weird for me I guess.
I suppose they can make it work, but that is something I might give a try if they were to do it, but like I said it will be very weird. Everyone has ideas and this may be one for some but for me I can’t see. It was to happen then let it happen, but I don’t think you can guarantee success.
