War Doctor
I am truly sad. The actor who plays the War Doctor has died. For me this is sudden. I really don’t keep up to much with actors of Doctor Who. I only see these things when the show up on Facebook or the web.
The memories I have of John Hurt are as the dragon on Merlin. He plays that role very well. I always love to hear him as he speaks to Merlin. The great thing is that the dragon is at will of Merlin since he is a dragon lord. How great is that.
As the War Doctor, Hurt does a marvelous job. Having only seen the 50th Anniversary special like once, my thoughts are not as complete as I would like. There are other places we see the War Doctor in the program.
For me, I remember him more from Merlin as the Dragon. I love the way his guides young Merlin as he strives to learn the magical powers which he has. He is a great source of wisdom for Merlin and there times that his advice helps Merlin. Therefore, he is good for the show.
The video above tells a small part of the War Doctor. This is the incarnation we know very little about. John Hurt is to me the perfect person for the role. We get a glimpse of him in The Name of the Doctor. This is a spoiler for the Day of the Doctor. The way that Moffat does this is really good to me. The show his face only to bring him into the show for only one story. Matt Smith’s Doctor Tells us that he is not the Doctor because of his actions. But then, the 10th and 11th Doctors help him do the right thing.
Life is short and we should never be surprised when someone dies. Because they touch our lives on the screen, it makes hard not to be sad when we hear of the loss of a great actor. Hurt, for me is only know for Merlin and Doctor Who, therefore I can’t say much about other parts he played. That does not mean I don’t admire him. People who he has worked with have played tribute to him. Therefore, they think allot about him.
Because I have only seen him as the War Doctor and the Dragon does not mean I anything to me. From what I watched of him, I find him very good, and because of that I wish I can see other parts hs plays.
