The Pilot

The Pilot is episode one for Season 10 of Doctor Who. Hey, you know Clara is gone and that the Doctor doesn’t travel without a companion. There is a carry over from the Christmas Special. Nardole returns for Season 10 and Steven Moffat adds another companion. We will meet Bill, played by Pearl Mackie. I can’t wait to see Bill.

The trailers give us a good idea of the way she will be and I find it very interesting indeed. Therefore, I will be front and center Saturday night. I am so glad that BBC America is airing The Pilot at 7 pm central standard time this Saturday. There has been a long wait for Season 10 and I hope the  wait is worth it. The commentary from the actors, producer, and other around the show is very strong. It tells is that Moffat chose to go back in time a little and bring back some old foes. This could be good then it could be bad.

Of course only time will tell on that. The Old School feel of season 10 may have deeper meaning and we really won’t know until after the season is rolling. The Pilot is the first of 13 episodes in which we will see the Doctor, Bill, and Nardole.

Peter Capaldi also hints of a new monster and the return of old enemies. Of course we know that one of these is the Mondasian Cybermen. Who we see for the first time in The Tenth Planet. Then Pearl Mackie tells about us meeting Bill for the first time.

The Radio Times tells us that the Doctor is on a secret mission when he meet Bill Potts.(1)  This seems always be the case. Whether he is on a secret mission or just lands on a planet or earth, companions just want to fly away with the Doctor. He seems to live an interesting life and then the companions want to see other places. I really don’t know if they know what it means to travel with the Doctor, but they soon find out.

My hope is that Season 10 lives up to the hype. I am an old school fan from the 80s when the classic series is king, but the revival has brought some good stuff as well. Looking forward to the 15th of April and watching The Pilot.
