Rumors

Everyone in the Whovian universe is on the edge of there seat waiting the news of who is the new Doctor. Rumors have been circulating for awhile now and speculation is high. There are many different names out there who come up when the media talk about the next Doctor. With the popularity of the show and the iconic history as well, I know there are always going to be rumors.

The Radio Times has an article which tells us that Russell T Davies knows who the next Doctor is.(1) Because of his ties with the revival, apparently the powers to be trust him. So, they pull him into the offices and let him know. Well, don’t that beat all. They cast the next Doctor and do not tell anyone outside of Davies. I personally would rather not know who the next Doctor is until Peter Capaldi regenerates, and I do not know about other whovians, but that is my stance.

I remember before I really got into the program. Knowing who the Doctor came only after happens. In today’s world everyone wants in on everything. It is like they need to know everything. Well, who cares. I love the expectation as much as anyone else, just make the reveal on the show. I don’t want to know who will be on the other side of the regeneration energy.  The surprise of the new face is awesome.

From what I read, Davies is told not to give away who it is. It is to be silent about the person playing the new Doctor. Now, I understand that if he knows that it really is not rumors. Of course there are all kinds of rumors everywhere about who is the next Doctor. There are going to be rumors circulating until we actually know. Because he or she has not been revealed the rumors and speculation will continue.

I don’t care who it is, but I do hope and trust CHris Chibnall to make the correct choice. Well, whether the BBC announces the new Doctor soon. Or they wait until the change happens, I can’t wait until then.
