Torchwood Revival
The Torchwood Revival is happening. After a six year hiatus, the Doctor Who spin-off is returning. John Barrowman makes hints that it will return sometime back. Now, I don’t know how many people believe what he says, but now Russell T Davies confirms that series 5 will happen. From this article by Radio Times, we find that a new audio set is going to be made.
The titel for this new series is Torchwood: Aliens Among Us. What takes place in this series happens after the events of Torchwood: Miracle Day. John Barrowman and Eve Myles play Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper. Russell T Davies creates new characters to work along side these original members of Torchwood. Fans want the show back.(1)
I really do not know whether I want it back or not, because I did not get to watch many of the episodes from series 1-4. I have a limited knowledge of Torchwood, so a Torchwood revival is not something I will get real excited about. Other people from the UK and around the world enjoy watching the program and ask and petition to bring the show back. This is something Big Finish productions is doing.
My hope is that I can watch series five and that some get to watch series 1-4. I love Doctor Who and science fiction programs in general. I love Star Wars, Star Trek, and Lost in Space. The last one is really cool to me, but Doctor Who is the best. Russell T Davies did a great job with Doctor Who, so the Torchwood Revival may be good. I may decide to buy the audio set and then I amy not. I really think I need to watch the television series first.
Big Finish is known for its audio series and they seem to do a great job. It will be awesome if the BBC is to take Big Finish’s lead and bring back Torchwood to our television screens. But this is not promised in the article. So, there is a Torchwood Revival, but not on television as of now.
