Star Trek

According to this article in Radio Times, Doctor Who lead Peter Capaldi is almost cast as the lead on Deep Space Nine. Now this to me is a shock. I know that Peter is a very skilled actor, but the lead on Deep Space Nine. Star Trek is another iconic television show. This is a total surprise and I really cannot imagine how the show would be different. Peter would bring a different feel to the show I can say.

This is really something which can be or can’t be a good thing. I mean a Scottish Captain on a StarShip, wow. I can remember Scotty on the original Star Trek series. As a result of Scotty, I really love his accent and what he brings to the original series. Now, Peter being a Scot and adding his accent to the lead. Wow, that will change things as far the perspective of many Star Trek fans.

I personally did not see many if any Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episodes. I kind of left the program after Star Trek: The Next Generation is of the air. Because I really lost some interest in the show, watching the later Star Treks did not happen.

I do not know how long Deep Space Nine remains on the air, and neither can I say the show will run any longer if Capaldi becomes the lead. Because it did not happen Doctor Who fans will not even know how things will work out with Doctor Who or Deep Space Nine.

What I can say though is that because I know what type of actor Capaldi is. I know that he time on Deep Space Nine will be. His accent to me brings a different feel to the show. Because of this different feel, I believe that Deep Space Nine runs longer. This may be just my opinion, but that is okay.
