Season 13

There are several articles where fans are told Season 13 will be one story. This article from the Verge tells you all about it. Fans are curious, but of what? Question will it make the season better? Is it a bad idea to have only one story?  Well, this will not be the first time a showrunner used one story. The most recent is The Trial of a Timelord comes to mind. Of course, fans see that as different. Doctor Who was coming off a hiatus, and Colin Baker was going to be fired.

Fans of the classic series will remember the Key to Time. Tom Bakers doctor and Romania traveled all over space and time to collect seven segments to make a key. The key was to set all things in order. Will this be good for Doctor Who? The truth is yes and no. Fans may lose interest in watching the same old story, but that is just an opinion. As a fan, it can be good, but we will have to wait and see.

What is a good outlook for Season 13? Fans want something to grab their attention. They want to get something they will stay and watch. Does a one-story plot do that? We will see in the fall what comes of this. Does this mean Chibnall finally wins over fans? There are so many questions to ask. What is the purpose of having all episodes revolve around one story?  With only one story, there could be continuity, but is that enough? Fans will have to wait to judge the quality.

All fans can look forward to the season and watch week to week to see the effect. Skeptical, yes, just a little. The two series mentioned above are worth watching. Of course, this year’s episodes may work as well. Because of one story, fans may return to watch every week. But that may not bring them back either.
