Phenomenal
Many fans of Doctor Who do not feel that Jodie Whittaker won’t be a good Doctor. Those fans continue to believe that even though many people close to Doctor Who and Whittaker continue to praise her. Well, in this article by Huw Fullerton, one of her cast members, Sharon Clarke spills the beans on Radio 4’s Loose Ends and says that Whittaker is going to be phenomenal.
According to Clark, Whittaker has played characters who are downtrodden. Meaning they have a sad countenance and their lives are not very good. There is a difference between those characters and that of the Doctor. Fans see the Doctor as a hero. He now she is there to help others and be a hero. Which is very different. So, rather than being lowly and hurting, she is now upbeat and being a hero.
Since my knowledge of Whittaker is limited, my opinion is not accurate. Therefore, I have to read articles from interviews with people she has worked or is working. As a result, I tend to believe what those working with her have to say. It seems they will know more than those who are not. So, yes I believe what Clarke said about Whittaker, and look forward to Season 11.
Would Clarke say this and not mean it or even be accurate? Well, that is for you and me to decide. Whether you believe it or not is up to you, but we don’t need to judge Whittaker or anything else about Season 11 until we see the first story. Yeah, Clarke could just be saying that to build the show-up. Which is what a cast member will do, but could what she is saying be true?
As a fan, you must decide for yourself whether to believe her or not. The thing is though everyone close to the show and Whittaker is saying the same thing. I know some fans may not like it or believe it, but why can’t we wait and see and not judge her or Chibnall before we see the first episode in the fall.
