New trailer for the Doctor Who Christmas Special

Christmas Day is now only 13 days away and with that the BBC releases a new trailer for their Doctor Who Christmas Special. I really love the fact that the BBC is promoting the story as much as they are. To me that means they want to get ratings and hope to continue the program. As a fan, I always look for new Doctor Who stories. I love the fact that they brought this show back after a sixteen year hiatus.

For a long time many of the fans of Doctor Who see the Doctor as a hero. I do not see him as a hero, but as a great help in the time of need. It is like the Doctor shows up at the right time all the time. In the process of things he helps right a wrong or helps a civilization out that is need. The people of that planet or time may see him as a hero because he does some amazing things for them.

For the first time, Doctor Who is blessed with a superhero. Steven Moffat chose to bring this genre to Doctor Who. What I am hoping for in all of this is that it takes off, no pun intended. Watching this trailer really gets my hopes up for a great story. The time since the last episodes has been too long. I am in Doctor Who withdrawal as is many other fans as well and would binge watch Doctor Who if I had enough videos of the classic show. I love both the classic and new series.

The new Christmas Special is set in New York with the menace of brain-swapping aliens on the attack. Peter Capaldi’s Doctor joins forces with Nardole, Matt Lucas to investigate. They also meet a new helper in an investigative reporter, Lucy Fletcher played by Charity Wakefield. Of course the need to figure this all out is very important. During all the antics, they meet a mysterious hero known as the Ghost. The suspense builds as another dude is present by the name Grant Gordon who is not in the same room at the same time.(1) Makes you think about Superman ans Clark Kent!

Well, every little spoiler and bit of information makes the suspense build. I watch the trailer and read the articles and my need to see this grows. I love this show and can’t hardly wait til the Christmas Special appears. This is the prelude to the last season with Steven Moffat at the helm.
