Being a Doctor Who since I was very young there has been allot that has happened and audiobooks and novels are one. I remember watching the Fourth Doctor religiously every day when I come home from school. Being a science fiction junky at an early age makes things different. I remember watching Star Trek and Star Wars and loving them just like Doctor Who.

Being only 9 or 10 and not really having any connection to the BBC or the UK, I did not know that there is a publishing company which produces Doctor Who audiobooks or novels. So as I grow older and get even more into Doctor Who, I still do not gain any knowledge of such adventures. I suppose I lived a rather sheltered life you would say. Well, I continue to grow and love Doctor Who more. I really get into the program and find out much about the show in my teenage years. It is at that time I find out there is more than one Doctor.

Well, life goes on and the BBC cancels the show while I am a senior in high school. Well, this is a sad day for me. The show will no longer be made and that hurts. Now, I still do not know about novels and audiobooks. But from what I understand they were already writing novels and recording them. Not sure about this but I believe that is what keeps the show alive. Personally, I have never read or listen to any of the novels of audio books per se. What they do is get my attention. They also tell me the show is immensely popular.

I am grateful for this novels and audiobooks. They are available and gives whovians a way to hear and read about the iconic character and his travels. I truly wish that I would have known about these avenues of communication for the show. I would most likely have tried to find these books. Things may have been a little different.

I actually do not like the Seventh Doctor very well and I can see why the show is cancelled. The production and writing for the show is terrible. The show is not making money for the BBC and I am sure the popularity is not what it once was.

The fact that they continue to make audiobooks and novels shows that the show still has followers. I believe it is a wnder thing to have fans and companies which care about a program enough to wtire books and then record them. Thank you Big Finish for the work you do.
