Master/Missy
The Master/Missy to me is someone Doctor Who needs. I understand that the character is not added to the show until the 1970’s. The original actor to play him was Roger Delgado and I absolutely love him as the Master. He did a great job and made him an important part of Doctor Who. As the result of an unforeseen car accident in 1973, he was not seen for several years.
The next time we see him he is near death and does not have any more regeneration. The view we get is a skeleton of a man. Well, he does not die to where he does not return. The producers find a way by allowing the Master to get some power and use the leftover energy take the body of another person in The Keeper of Traken. From this point until the shows cancellation Anthony Ainley plays the Master. I like Ainley as well although not as much as Delgado.
Russell Davies sees the importance of the Master to the show so he brings him back again. This time John Sims is the actor which plays him. In these shows he is a very diabolical Time Lord with how he works. I like the way the Davies uses him in the few shows we see him. He leaves again in the same episode which David Tennant leaves and the next time we him he is a woman.
Missy is a revelation to me and others I am sure. This is something which I never see coming. As long as I can remember he has been a man. Well, Steven Moffat decides to cst Michelle Gomez as the Master/MIssy. This is a good thing for the show I believe because many fans like her in the role.
This whole thing now is about bringing the Master back. We see both Missy and the Master die in the final episode of Season 10. My question is will Chibnall bring him back. Then if he does will it be as a woman or as a man. I absolutely want to see a return of the Doctor’s oldest friend and enemy. I just don’t think it is Doctor Who without the Master, and I certainly hope to see him again and if Chibnall sees like I do. He will bring him back from the dead. This is not impossible because this is television.
