Exciting Rumor
An exciting rumor is denied very quickly by the BBC. The idea that Catherine Tate is reprising her role as Donna Noble is put to rest by the BBC. According to this article, Catherine Tate will not be returning to Doctor Who in Season 13. Yes, this is sad news for many fans. They may want to see Donna again because her character jelled with the Doctor so well.
Fans love to see popular companions, but there are cases fans can’t see them again. Her returning is about as likely as Adric returning. If you remember, Adric gave his life saving the Earth as well as his friends. So, as much and you want Donna to return, it does seem possible. Of course, this is a television program, and they can find ways to make this happen. But how do you rewrite Doctor Donna? The Doctor erases all memories of her travels with him to save her life.
The truth of the matter is that something must change. Now, you can have Donna meet the Doctor before meeting the Tenth Doctor. Then there is another problem. How do that? There is so much here and so much to do to make it happen. Fans can want this, but the truth is it is not going to. The thought of Donna returning is bleak. There can be a mutual feeling from the BBC and Catherine Tate of not bringing Donna back. In that case, there is not any reason for fans to get their hopes up on a Donna return.
Look, fans know what they like as well as what they want. But in some cases, it does not matter. The hopes of bringing Donna back are simply an exciting rumor. That is all it is. Yeah, fans would love to see how she gets along with Jody’s Doctor, but at the expense of her dying. The Doctor loses enough companions and other friends to death. So, leave it alone and let it rest.
