Entering the TARDIS
Entering the TARDIS for the First Doctor you would think is not a big deal. Now, we do need to realize here the distance between the First Doctor and the twelfth Doctor. There are many centuries between them and the reaction, I think is absolutely brilliant. There is going to be clash of two Doctors and they look t pull it off wonderfully as mentioned here.
Everyone of course the First Doctor in the Christmas Special is David Bradley because William Hartnell is no longer with us. I truly enjoy watching this short trailer from Twice Upon a time. I find some of very funny and then there are serious pieces as well. If this clip is any indication of how good the entire show is can’t hardly wait.
Now, these three men enter the TARDIS. When I speak of three men I mean the First Doctor, the Twelfth Doctor, and the officer played by Mark Gatiss. The interaction between the characters is very good and I love the reactions of the First Doctor and the Captain. “My TARDIS, look at my TARDIS”, says the First Doctor. Then the Captain says, ” It is bigger on the inside than on the outside.” The First Doctor does not like the look of the Twelfth Doctor’s TARDIS. For me, I can see why. The interior of the TARDIS is much different than it was when Hartnell was the Doctor.
From this point the Capaldi’s Doctor tells the Captain that he is a soldier from WWI and I love the reaction of the Captain and the Capaldi’s reaction to him. “WWI what do you mean one?”, says the Captain and the Doctor answers, “Oh, sorry spoilers.” The idea of spoilers is nothing new to Doctor Who. We see spoilers used from the Tenth Doctor on.
The First Doctor at first really does not know who the Twelfth Doctor is. Which when you think about is strange to me. Some fans may not think it strange but I do. But then Capaldi shows him the regeneration energy and what happens next is absolutely great. “I assumed I would get younger.” says the First Doctor. Then the Twelfth Doctor say, “I am younger!”
After seeing that short clip, I can say that my want for Christmas to get here is even greater now than before. I hope those who read this will click on the video and watch this short preview of the Christmas Special.
