Dismantled
I am saddened by the fact that Peter Capaldi leaves the role of the Doctor. Now, I read this article by Radio Times and it gets even worse. I do realize there is a need to update the show and bring new blood into Doctor Who. But as always I really hate to see change. What we find here is that Capaldi’s TARDIS is dismantled.
I say this now and will always feel this way. It seems just I get use to a Doctor he chooses to leave the show. This one to me and of course this is not the only one, but like Matt Smith and David Tennant I feel it is too soon. As a result I feel real sad. It seems I did not see enough of Capaldi, Smith, or Tennant. Just as I get into the Doctors they leave. I understand that maybe three years should be the limit or maybe it should not be. But there are at least two men who play the role for more than three years.
Now, Tennant was the Doctor for four years but only has three complete seasons and then the specials. Which are really good as well. Tennant leaves because he does not want typecast. Then with Smith I don’t know why he leaves and then Capaldi says it is time to go.
As a Whovian, I will always feel sad when I hear and see a Doctor go. I think maybe they should stay longer but I am not them. I don’t know the stress or the amount of work which goes into this great television show. Capaldi says it is a year round job and allot of work involved. So, I take his word for it and wish him luck in other endeavors.
With Capaldi’s TARDIS dismantled, it shows that the BBC is ready to move one and begin a new era with Doctor Who. Now, I want to old onto Capaldi’s Doctor, but I can’t. He is gone and now we have a new Doctor. The first female Doctor in the shows history. I am pulling for Jodie Whittaker and Chris Chibnall as the show moves forward.
I know that other Capaldi fans cry when he leaves and we all hate to see him go, and I believe that season ten is his best and that if he stays one more year he becomes even greater. He does grow on you and I love his Scottish accent. I am so glad he keeps his Scottish accent.
The dismantling of Capaldi’s TARDIS shows that the BBC is ready to move on and that is what they want. Now, they begin a new era with Whittaker and Chris Chibnall. I hope that things go well and the show is as good as it always has been.
