Comics
Comics are another way to read and see Doctor Who. In this article, fans get good news. I believe comics have been a part of Doctor Who for some time. Therefore this comes as no surprise. What fan wouldn’t want to see their favorite sci-fi character in a comic book?
I remember as a kid buying or having my mother buy comics for me. I looked more at the picture rather than reading them, but there is always a need to read them if you want to know what is going on. Comic books are a great way to continue such an iconic television show. These and the audiobooks by Big Finish make new Doctor Who stories available for fans.
Having not listened to any of the audiobooks or read any of the comics, I can’t say I know a lot about them. I hear great things about Big Finish through articles and from other fans. The words I have read about the actors are great as well.
From what I understand, Colin Baker is better known for his work in Big Finish plays than on the television screen. He has done a few audio books as has Tom Baker, Paul McGhan, and Sylvester McCoy as well. There are audiobooks from all the Doctors I am sure, and I believe there are comics as well.
My hope is Doctor Who will continue. With the fanbase it has, there is a need for new who all the time. Rewatching the old episodes is always good, but every fan needs a taste of new stories all the time. That is why I wish they had new episodes every week. Of course, that wish is a little far-fetched, but comics and audiobooks it is a better possibility.
The news of Titan writing comics for Jodie’s Doctor makes good sense. I am now curious about comics and audiobooks. Therefore, sometime in the future, I may very well buy one of each and maybe more.
