Carole Ann Ford

Carole Ann Ford, another great choice for a role on Doctor Who. She was only 22 or 23 years old when the production team cast her as Susan. Of course, that she is not as young as other companions, but there is the possibility there are one or two younger. I am just sure about that.

She got here start in movies rather than television. Apparently, she is in a movie called The Day of the Triffids.(1)  But the only place I have seen her is on Doctor Who. While this is the only place I can say I have seen her, I can say that I like her as an actress. But she is apart of other television shows and films I am sure. She is very talented actress and deserves to get roles in film and TV.

She has di so many other things in film and television. Therefore she should be a very well known actress. From what I see in the information I read, she has a great and ongoing career in film and television. My hope is she can continue as she has over the past in the present and future.

Movies

An actress with Ford’s talent will be able to get roles almost at will. She is in a number of movies. Now, to be honest I did not see any of them. Being from the US, you will not be able to unless you I can go to England. She has the talent to make these movies great. I mention one earlier, but she also stars in Mix Me, The Great St Trinian’s Train Robbery and The Hiding Place respectfully. (2)

Television

I would think that such a talented actress would do more than Doctor Who on television. Well, I am right. Her talent as an actress lends to a certain type of genre. From my research, that is suspense and thriller. The reason I say this is because of all the run in with trouble she has in Doctor Who and the way she reacts. Carole Ann Ford plays roles in the television production Suspense, (3) which I take as a lead to what she enjoys doing in acting. Man, she really does allot these suspense shows, but there are other types.

I personally would never take her a judge of music talent, but that is what Carole Ann Ford did on the BBC’s Juke Box Jury. (4) The show is like and comes from the American show Jukebox Jury. Then Ford does many voice over for television shows as well.

For me, her best known role is as Susan on Doctor Who. My view of her talent and ability comes from my experience watching Doctor Who. I believe she makes a name for herself as Susan and decides to leave after she has done all she can as Susan. Change is something which as a fan of Doctor Who is a regular thing. Not only does the Doctor change so does the companions. I was  a little sad to see her leave Doctor Who, but I guess she felt it was time to move on and go in a different direction. Well, from 1963 until 1964 I can see here as Susan on Doctor Who, but thanks to the legacy she leaves later producers bring her back. Although both are brief she is in the Five Doctors and Dimensions in Time.(5)

In the end, I am grateful for all the work Ford has done on Doctor Who and all other avenues of television and film. I wish her the best in all her endeavors.
