Amy Pond
Radio Times posted this article, which Karen Gillian speaks about playing Amy Pond alongside Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor. Now, I love Amy Pond and she is rather interesting companion. The fact that the Doctor land in her backyard after regenerating is a twist that I never saw coming. But, I really do not know how things will go if she is the companion to the Thirteenth Doctor.
Gillan thinks that Whittaker is the perfect choice for Doctor Who. She raves about her and that she can hardly wait to see how she plays the part. Now, thinking about this idea of having Amy Pond with the Thirteenth Doctor for me is not really hard, but it does seem doable. The problem I have at this point is that I really do not know much about Whittaker. As a result I really do not know whether it will be good or not. I love Amy Pond and all that she did for Doctor Who, but without a real idea on Whittaker I can’t say too much.
Now, everything I read about Whittaker is all positive and from other actors and actresses I get the idea that she is going to be great. When taking what I read into account, I can say that I feel that Pond and the Thirteenth Doctor could be great together. Now, I know that Pond is in another time stream for the Doctor. Which means that this will not happen or will it. This is Doctor Who and there are specials where certain Doctors cross each others paths. Now whether that is going to happen I do not know, but it is a thought.
Gillian feels fairly strong about this and she may be right. I cannot say one way or the other so I am just going to remain neutral. Gillan’s, Amy Pond, was a good if not a great companion and really enjoy watching her. I do hope they have a story with multiple Doctors which will have the Thirteenth Doctor cross paths with the Eleventh Doctor. But that is up to Chris Chibnall now and whether it happens or not is up to him. As a result, we will just have to wait and see.
