Amelia Pond

Amelia Pond is the first companion for Matt Smith’s Doctor. The way they introduce her is great and I love the idea of bringing her back. The landing of the damaged TARDIS in Amelia’s back yard is different for sure. It leads to a long run of the Doctor and Amy and they add Rory to mix.

I love Amy Scottish accent and the way she portrays herself around the Doctor, and I am sure that Chris Chibnall can find a way to bring back the fiery red head. I always loved the story line Steven Moffat uses with Amy. When we finally find out that she is River Songs mother I am rather surprised. This of course go back to before Moffat becomes the showrunner. I am not completely sure whose idea River Song is nor Amy being her mother and Rory being her father. But what do know is that I like it.

I am all for Amelia Pond returning or even Karen Gillian returning as another character. This is something which we see allot with Doctor Who. There are actors who play other smaller parts in stories, who later return to play bigger roles. Doctor Who does this and it is very successful. If Gillian is a great actress and will do wonders to help the popularity of Doctor Who. I can see where many fans miss her and did not like to see her go.

With changes in cast members, Doctor Who sees its fair share of characters. There are always different companions and Doctors. They provide a new feel for the program and makes it more interesting. So, if Chibnall decides to bring Gillian back don’t look for her to play Amelia Pond, but rather a different character. Then we may get a different side of Gillian and then maybe not. I know that Gillian is a great performer and I love Amy. I really hope to see Gillian in Doctor Who, but if she does not come back I am okay with that to.
