What you should know about me. I personally have been a Doctor Who fan since I was 9 or 10 years of age. The very first Doctor I encountered was the fourth Doctor, Tom Baker. To some extent he set me on what the Doctor was like. He appeared very strange to a 9 year old but caught my interest enough to make watch him everyday at whatever time LPB (Louisiana Public Broadcasting) had him on.

I can say that Doctor Who was not a show which I fell in love with immediately. I have always been a sci-fi fan and this was a show that would possibly meet the criteria that I required to watch it. My interest in the show grew each and every time I watch the Doctor. The thing about me was that if it was sci-fi it most likely would be something I would watch. There were other sci-fi movies such as Star Wars. Which the original movie came out in 1976. Star wars was a little different than Doctor Who, but was still was in the same genre.

The thing about me is the more I watch the show the more I fell in love with it.  LPB changed the time they aired the show and even began to show more than just Tome Baker’s version of the Doctor. It was only then that I realized there more to the show just what was going on with Tom Baker’s doctor. I was to see some episodes from  some other Doctors. Then in 1985, the show went on hiatus for 18 months before Colin Baker’s final episodes were shot. In September of 1986, the producers of the show made Colin’s final 14 episodes. I personally did not like what happen but waited for the new Doctor to appear.

Another thing about with this show is that change is not always good. I admit that the other changes seemed ok. The only one I feel was a little iffy would have been Peter Davidson, but not the extent it was with McCoy. McCoy’s Doctor tried to be too much like a slap stick comic. He would run and when making a turn would hop two or three times before making his turn. This was not very appealing to me.

Well, we fast forward to 2005. Someone at BBC decides to renew the series. Guess what? I am delighted that they do. They bring the show forward into the new century and make it better than ever. Another thing about me is I do not leave a good thing. Doctor Who is a good thing. It is very entertaining and interesting. I am a science fiction  lover and watch almost anything that grabs my interest. The new Doctors are great and the writing is grand. And as with the old series these guys bring their own characters to the Doctor.

I really want other whovians to get involved with my blog. I am open to comments about what I write in order to expand my knowledge and see things from another person;s view. I want to know who your favorite Doctor is. As well as your favorites in other parts of the show. I hope to hear from many whovians who read my blog.
